SESSION ENERGY4-S3: Hydrogen, Storage and Nuclear Options
Chair: Dave Ginley
Thursday, July 31, 2008
Level 3 - Grand Ballroom, Hilton Sydney

2:00 PM *ENERGY4-S3.1 (invited)
Advanced Materials for Hydrogen Production, Storage and Utilization. (#1494) Mildred S. Dresselhaus, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.

Hydrogen is expected to be one approach toward meeting future energy needs. To exploit this approach major advances in our present understanding and technological capabilities will be needed for hydrogen production, storage and utilization. All of these advances are critically dependent on the discovery and development of new materials, many on the nanoscale. The conceptual underpinnings for such developments are discussed with emphasis on scientific and technological issues, within the context of near term and long term opportunities.
